I thoroughly enjoy koalas, shipwrecks, cozy interior decorating schemes, food, How I Met Your Mother, Law and Order: SVU, fashion photography, things that make me laugh, Pretty Little Liars, Andrew McMahon, various different sorts of music, and art. Proceed with, I don't know, whatever you want.

so today I was in Hallmark buying my mom a Happy Birthday card when I noticed this old man stnding in front of the Valentines card section contemplating which one to get. I decide to go over and I ask him “Are you getting a Valentine’s Day for your wife?” in which he replies “No my wife died 3 years ago from breast cancer but I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart” gmh
Happy Valentine’s Day. And if you’re single- don’t complain. The right one’s out there for you somewhere.
This reminds me of my poppop. It’ll be his first Valentine’s Day without my mommom. They were married almost their entire lives.
I thought about this when I woke up and realized I need to make sure he has a card today, or something. I can’t imagine how fucking hard that is.
So yeah, teenagers crying that you’re going to be f0r3v3r @L0n3, think about how that old man feels for five seconds and thank God that you don’t feel that way today.
The empathy I have for the human race is so deep sometimes that I get really really upset about how other people feel. I can’t imagine being in my poppop’s place but I also am putting myself there emotionally and I can’t help it and it’s so sad.
The young have absolutely nothing to complain about on Valentine’s Day. We have our whole lives ahead of us to even further wreck this miserable holiday and our perceptions of love.
Which is why i’m going on a big friend date to Devi, studying for my math test, buying wine and chocolate, and getting drunk with my friends. Because these are the days where we can still do that. So fuck it.
